“The Lonely Ones” by K-OS from The Anchorman Mixtape
K-OS is giving this mixtape away for free on his website. He’s about 5 years late with the Anchorman theme, but there are some good tracks here.

Quirky, Inc., my favorite new website, has finally made me rich. They sent me a check for $76.33. Quirky is a crowd-sourcing company where you can help develop consumer products. You can submit an idea for a product, a name, a design, a tagline, etc. or just vote on ideas that others have submitted. They try to churn out one new product each week. Most of the products are things that I would never buy. But people are buying these things products and I’m having fun and making cash. Here it is, the closest thing to a paycheck I’ve ever had:

My most anticipated album of 2010 is finally (almost) here: The Suburbs by Arcade Fire. Here’s one of my favorite tracks:
So I was watching everyone’s favorite blogger and puppeteer Loren Feldman on Ustream tonight. We were chatting about how terrible the Scobleizer‘s new logo is. I mocked up a parody one for 1938 Media and Loren put it in a blog post.
I ran this program IOGraphica for a few hours and this is what it came up with. The lines show my mouse position over time and the dot size shows how long I kept my mouse in the same place.
People are complaining that this album is an in incoherent mess. It is, and everyone seems to love it. This track is like 4 or 5 different songs in one:
I’m going to see Spoon tonight at Radio City Music Hall. I love the venue and I used to love the band. I’ve been trying to get back into their music.
For this website, and my sister’s new site, I bought hosting from A Small Orange. So far they’ve been incredibly good. I only bought the hosting because it was the cheapest around and its from a company that doesn’t oversell (which is hard to find). My hosting only costs $20 per year with a coupon. It doesn’t include much, but it’s fast and professional hosting; perfect for the kind of websites I make (the kind that don’t get any hits). I’ve contacted support twice, and I received a response with a helpful solution in less than 10 minutes both times. They have a referral good referral program, too. I’ve almost made back the cost of my hosting with my mad marketing skillz. You can sign up using the banner to the right, and use the coupon code “derek” for $5 off.
